K-8th Homeschool Programs
Homeschool programs from Homeschooling Curriculum use through two regionally accredited schools depending on where you live. Both are accredited through agencies that states recognize. Both have high school programs. Parents are discovering that for only a little more cost over curriculum, they can have the extra benefits and structure that make their job easier and give students a higher success rate. There are two curriculum choices for K-2nd grades and five choices for 3rd-8th grades!Print this page for your spouse!
Here is why our homeschool programs are a value over just curriculum: The homeschool programs include curriculum, accreditation, diagnostic testing, achievement testing, professional cumulative folder management, a teacher on call option, academic counselor and we take care of the school transfer instead of the parent.
Here is what the extra structure does for families: It makes life easier dealing with the local school district. It allows annual achievement testing to be done in the home. Diagnostic testing analyzes for any foundational gaps. School records are kept in top shape for you. We take care of taxing report card calculations and provide semester report cards. Parents can have an outside teacher via the curriculum system give your student academic help and take care of tedious subjective scoring. An academic counselor will take care of the school transfer or bring previous homeschool records current. The academic counselor also keeps the “next steps” ready for important curriculum and testing procedures.
First time doing school from home? The money you will be saving by doing school from home will pay most, if not all of our costs! Our homeschool programs save transportation time and cost. They save paying for expensive and often less nutritional lunches. Many families even save on clothing costs. All our homeschool programs use character building curriculum that has not left out or explained God away. Some feel completing school from home is the only way to avoid negative peer pressure, low self-esteem, travel risks, and the growing crime rate in schools. Our homeschool programs have focused on academic success, saving parents time, meeting school district needs, keeping school expenses low, and meeting the needs of different abilities. All this is done while prioritizing character building. Our Teacher On Call feature assists your student with academic help, plus handles subjective scoring that would normally have to be done by the parent. This frees up the parent to focus on encouragement.
Efficient Education: Campus-based schools have announcements, lunch count, class transition times, lost time at the beginning and end of each class, study periods, and other procedures that use up a large portion of the school day. With our homeschool programs, the same amount of coursework can be completed in much less time. Our individualized structure lets students work at their own pace. Whether an advanced or previously struggling student, the student can work at the rate that is best for him without being bored waiting for others or left behind. Students are motivated, because when they are done with their day’s work, they are done with school instead of having to sit in a classroom. Students can opt to work ahead to shorten the school week. All our homeschool programs are mastery-based. New students complete a math and language diagnostic to find any foundational weaknesses that might be making school work difficult. If any are found, smaller units are assigned to repair the area.
Kindergarten: There are two kindergarten programs to choose from based on curriculum: Alpha Omega and Horizons. Normally Horizons will be recommended. Horizons is a learning to read kindergarten curriculum.
There is a family registration fee of $150, then Kindergarten tuition of $500 for the year. It includes all materials. A second Kindergarten child can be added for only an extra $99.
On the school website that represents your region, you can see samples of the program under Curriculum/Sample Curriculum.
1st And 2nd Grades: There are also two choices for booklet-based curriculum: Alpha Omega and Horizons. Normally Horizons will be recommended, since it is has a more aggressive Math scope and sequence. Students can continue the more aggressive Horizons Math curriculum all the way up through 7th grade Pre-Algebra. Students that have academic challenges or enroll at 2nd grade may have Alpha Omega recommended by their academic counselor. 1st grade Horizons Math should be completed before attempting 2nd Grade Horizons Math.
There is a family registration fee of $150, then tuition that figures out to only $3.10 per day for ten monthly payments. You can save 5-9% for semester and annual payments. It includes curriculum for 5 subjects, answer keys, and other materials. Annual achievement testing is not mandatory, and must be requested. On the school website that represents your region, you can see samples of the program under Curriculum/Sample Curriculum.
3rd Through 8th Grades: There are five choices for curriculum. Most homeschool programs do not offer this many choices! All options include 5 subjects. All options include annual achievement testing. All options have a family registration fee of $125 if it hasn’t been paid for another student in the family. On the school website that represents your region, you can see samples of the programs under Curriculum/Sample Curriculum.
Lifepac Curriculum: 3rd-8th grade students work in full-color booklets, combining exercises, projects, review, and tests. The Lifepac structure features a systematic review of learned concepts. Each new concept or skill is reinforced within the Lifepac booklet in which it is introduced. Then concepts and skills are integrated across all five subjects in the curriculum. e.g. Spelling words are emphasized in other subjects. Previously enrolled families or advanced math students might use Horizons Math through 7th grade. Many parents start with this booklet-based program, then transition to the combination of booklets and online after a year or two, then transition to entirely online. Tuition figures out to only $3.53 per day for ten monthly payments. You can save 5-7% for semester and annual payments.
Ignitia Online Curriculum: 3rd-8th grade students use an online system that provides an interactive learning environment with 3-D animation, video clips, and other fascinating multimedia. Ignitia has over 50,000 multimedia features. It provides automatic grading, record keeping, and lesson planning. This option frees up parent time more than booklet-based curriculum. This program can be continued through 12th grade. Tuition figures out to only $3.27 per day for ten monthly payments. You can save 5-7% for semester and annual payments.
Ignitia Online Curriculum with Teacher On Call: Only $2 per day extra! This is our best value. 3rd-8th grade students use the above online system, but also have the Teacher On Call feature. Teacher On Call provides a real teacher that can help your student directly in the online system. The teacher can also do the subjective scoring that would normally be required to be done by the parent. Subjective scoring is where occasional student work cannot be automatically scored by the system, such as writing projects. This option frees up parent time more than any other option, plus it can reduce family frustrations. Tuition figures out to only $5.33 per day for ten monthly payments. You can save 5-7% for semester and annual payments.
Combination Curriculum: We offer a combination curriculum option for 3rd-8th grade. The Combination Curriculum option allows a mixture of booklet-based and online-based. Most combination curriculum users will mainly use our online program with 1-2 courses of booklet curriculum. This option works great for transitioning a younger student from booklet-based to online-based. Tuition figures out to only $3.53 per day for ten monthly payments. You can save 5-7% for semester and annual payments.
CD Curriculum: Students from 3rd-8th grade use a computer to complete school work without requiring internet. It features 3D animation and cutting edge multimedia. Students finish lessons by completing various questions, activities and quizzes, all through the compact disk in your computer. The CD curriculum provides automatic grading, record keeping, and lesson planning with the click of a mouse, freeing up parent time more than booklet-based curriculum. CD curriculum requires a yearly payment structure because the full year’s curriculum is shipped. It is comparable in price to the booklet-based tuition.
